Decorative Garden Fountains
You can add one of these beautiful garden accents to your garden area to create and enjoy a restful place of your own. There is any type of fountain you can possibly imagine. There are animal fountains and Buddha fountains. There are 2-, 3-, and 4-tiered fountains. There are electric or solar fountains. There are even DIY (do-it-yourself) or make your own fountain instructions or kits available. Garden fountains are available in a variety of materials: ceramic, copper, fiberglass, stainless steel, cast stone, and sandstone to name a few. Once you've chosen and set up a decorative garden fountain in your garden area, there's a small amount of regular maintenance involved in keeping it beautiful and in good working order. You'll want to keep the basin cleaned out and free of leaves, small twigs and other debris that can clog the pump or tubing. Be sure to rinse the pump as needed by simply spraying it down well with your garden hose. Also, be sure to winterize your fountain. You'll want to protect your fountain from the winter freeze-thaw cycles. Dry out the fountain's plumbing, basin, and pump to prevent any expansion in the lines and damage to the fountain. It's best to take the pump indoors for the cold season. If you have a cast stone fountain, you may even want to consider covering the fountain itself with a non-porous material for the winter.
